Mallard is represented by a Mayor and Council under the Northern Affairs Act, which was recognized by the department in May 1970.
The community employs a full-time Community Administration Officer and a Public Works Employee. Our backup Water Operator works weekends and there is also as a part-time hall janitor. Our Recreation Director works part-time throughout the year.
Students are employed during the summer months. They participate in community clean-up projects, the community garden program and assist the Recreation Director. Training is offered when programs are available, such as CPR, First Aid, etc.
